Our Planet
We’re hungry to become a fully circular zero waste business by 2035, as well as becoming a net zero carbon business by 2040 or sooner – and we recently launched a partnership with University of Liverpool’s Zero Carbon Research Institute to help us get there. WASTE AND CIRCULARITY
We have a goal to be a fully circular, zero waste business by 2035. This means every single bucket, box and piece of packaging we use is recyclable or compostable by 2025. Sure, it’s ambitious, but we’ve already made a start. As of today, 100% of our paper and card is FSC certified, all our straws are biodegradable and we’re on course to remove 1,500 tonnes of single-use plastic by next year.

ENERGY AND CLIMATE

KFC UK & Ireland has made a commitment to be Net Zero by 2040 or sooner, ten years ahead of the government target, and we’ve signed up to two key initiatives to work on this issue and create a roadmap to get there, working with other businesses in our sector – you can check out the BRC climate roadmap, and the Zero Carbon Forum for hospitality.
